The easiest thing for us to do as Affiliate Marketers is simply to give the customer what he/she wants.

Today was Black Friday in the states and Monday is Cyber Monday. Two man-made shopping days much like Valentine’s day. The idea behind Black Friday is that it’s the start of Christmas shopping when everyone will get “terrific”, “super duper”, “best ever”, “I’ll never see a deal like this again”, “I can’t wait” types of deals. (I’m from Canada so I can’t really tell you if the deals are that super duper…)

Anyway, simply following the news you can see what the customer wants is a deal. Obviously, everyone always wants a deal, but with the state of the economy and all the layoffs apparently it’s more dramatic then ever. The following news stories are a little disturbing but here are the headline’s. (You can read the whole thing if you want but really the headline sums it up).

2 dead after shots fired in a Toys ’R’ Us store in Southern California

As you can see the ‘craze’ to get the cheapest items is just that CRAZY! So how can we capitalize on this? Here are a few ideas feel free to ‘think outside of the box’ on this

  • Price Comparison Site
  • Coupon Site
  • Ebay blog/site with popular items at a great price
  • Gift Card Email Submits
  • Make Money for Christmas Sites (Surveys)

Now, since it’s about 2 days away from December it’s probably too late to get a full price comparison or coupon site up and running. However, an Ebay site targeting a specific popular product (Nintendo Wii, LEGO, Iphone, etc..) and driving some PPC traffic to the site could end up being quite profitable.

Either way the moral of the story is that people are looking for a deal.  A GOOD deal it!  Provide them with what they’re looking for and you’ll make some money. And maybe you’ll save their life by not going shopping at a real store!    Yikes!
