I’ve been working on PPC marketing for a little while now. I started by attending the PPC summit back in May of this year and from that I spawned my $1K affiliate challenge. From all of this I haven’t had much success to date. Why is that? I think it’s been for a couple of reasons. I’m going to post the reasons I haven’t succeeded at affiliate marketing, YET!

1) Lack of Time

The summer is a perticularly busy time of the year for most people. This is totally true in my little corner of the world. Between the usual summer happenings and trying to run an Ultimate team I literally have very little time. Weak excuse but true.

2) Lack of Knowledge

Prior to PPC summit I had done quite a bit of reading about PPC marketing. Now that I’ve attended PPC summit and have spent a while reading about more things PPC related I have a much better understanding of how PPC marketing works. Obviously, I don’t know everything (or possibly enough) but I’m still learning.

3) Lack of Resources

Before this summer I didn’t hadn’t paid for a keyword research tool. As well, I didn’t have any landing pages for any offers. These two stumbling blocks, although little, have held me back much more then they should have.

4) Not wanting ‘it’ bad enough

The final reason I haven’t been successful (yet) is because i haven’t wanted it bad enough yet. Whatever the “it” is (money, time off, freedom, etc..) I haven’t completely dedicated myself to achieving it through PPC marketing (yet). I’ve been working on plenty of other stuff (phpbay sites, content sites, PLR sites, etc..) but not on purely PPC affiliate marketing.

Note that I’ve written Yet quite a few times. I’m taking steps towards becoming a successful PPC affiliate marketer. In my next post I’ll discuss the steps I’ve been taking and am taking to become a successful affiliate marketer.

Think about it and determine what’s holding you back from making money online. This is a blog about making money online and teaching you how to make money. The first step as in most things is DOING SOMETHING. Now go do it.
