Alright, I guess it’s onto week five now.   Unfortunately I haven’t done anything with PPC this week.    I stopped the campaign I was running for a couple of reasons.

Why?

The offer stopped converting.  I’m having a hard time figuring out why it’s stopped converting.  However, based on the number of clicks and the targeted keywords I would have thought I’d have more conversions. I also did some reading on various forums and other people had seen similar effects.  Rather then continue to lose money I shut off the campaign.    Was this a big enough sample to reliably shut off the campaign? No.  However, I think I’ve learn’t enough to continue on to a different niche.

Here are the lessons that I’ve learn’t from my first PPC campaign:

  1. Paying for a landing page is worth the money.  The time and quality of my work simply isn’t worth it compared to the quality and professionalism that paying for a landing page will get you.
  2. Keywords are just that “KEY”.  Gathering a large group of keywords to determine traffic sources is important.
  3. Grouping the keywords and using that in the ad copy is equally important.
  4. Having a good Quality score is important to lowering the cost-per-click

This week I plan to find another and research a different niche.  I didn’t fully research the previous niche and that was a bit of a “rookie move”.  I’m also in the process of creating a bunch of new sites so I’ll be busy working on that.
