As I’ve mentioned before being an affiliate marketer you must be able to think outside of the box. This is one of the key things that all people must start wrapping their heads around.

Recently I’ve been working with wordpress and PHPbay pro. Remember, this is the program that is interfaced with ebay. You simply install a plugin and then add items to your site based on different ebay search terms. You get paid by having people clicking on the items then making a bid on any item within the next 30 days. You also get paid when you refer a NEW customer to ebay.

Anyway, I’ve been tossing this idea around for a little while and created a site. Typically, PHPbay pro sites are easy to setup, but take a bit of time. The time is taken in researching a niche, writing articles and getting links. Again, it’s simple but takes a bit of time. So what if you could use the information you’ve learned from setting up a single site to make multiple sites?

I’m taking about a multi-language site.

You simply find a product (or niche) and create your site like you normally would. Write the usual number of articles associated with the niche and now go and gather backlinks. Now you setup the same site but in a different language. You can do this either on a different domain altogether or buying a new domain. (I’m guessing a new domain would probably work better but a single domain will suffice.) Now you simply create the same site in a different language and translate the articles that you’ve written. Voila! You have another site with a totally different customer base with probably less competition.

I’ve created three sites so far one in English, French and Italian check them out.

The key to ensuring this works is to pick a product that is used both in Europe and North America. I picked coffee grinders before determining that Europeans typically don’t use coffee grinders. They use more espressos with built in grinders or capsules (like nespresso).

Lesson learned: Research the market in all countries before creating a site.

Obviously, creating a multiple language blog is not a new idea and neither is a phpbay site. However, by combining the two techniques and capitalizing on the less competitive foreign markets you can probably be very profitable.

Anyway, I plan to make a bunch more of these sites in various languages with a different niche. I think the market potential is high with this idea and should be put to use before too many people start doing the same!
