One of the best ways to get and keep traffic is to have some or personalized part of your website.  A ton of marketing research has shown that connecting to your customer at a personal level helps to make a sale.  Although your not trying to make a “sale” in the true sense of the word.   You are trying to have repeat visitors who will tell others about your blog and help you get traffic.

So how do you go about making your blog personal? And how much information is required to ‘personalize your blog?’

I personally think it’s fun to write a bit more personal blog once and a while.  This could be something that you like or enjoy or a more personal take on your niche.  If you were doing a Dump Truck blog then you could always make a blog about Your five favorite dump trucks or dump trucks you’ve seen this week, etc…

These sorts of post also helps you to get some traffic for these other keywords your discussing.  You aren’t specifically targeting them but it may get your some traffic.

For example, I might start discussing mountain bike rides that I go on.  Is it related to Making Money Online or Blogging for Money?  Not really.  Do I enjoy it?  Yes.  Could I write a good article on different rides that I go on?  Yes.
