Alright. I know that it’s been a bit of work so far setting up the domain name, host and name server but we’re almost there. Today we’re learning how to setup Wordpress.

Wordpress is your blog platform. This is where you’ll write all your blogs (where I’m writing this blog) and setup your template and optimize it for google and everything. It’s basically the best blogging platform and where most people who are making online money, through blogs, are blogging.

There are two ways to do this.

1) Email your host tech support and get them to do it for you.

This is a really easy way to go but kind of a pain when you want to setup more then one blog. Which you’ll probably want to do eventually. So I just suggest learning to set it up yourself.

Also, not all the host platforms will have wordpress pre-loaded so you can’t always rely on this.

2) The other option is simply to do it yourself.

Here are the instructions if you’re being hosted at AN Hosting or midPhase Hosting. I can walk through this as this is the method that I use and it’s the simplest. If you’re being hosted elsewhere then email tech-support and as if they have wordpress pre-loaded. Here are the instructions if you’re hosted at ANHosting or MidPhase.

Login to your control panel by going to EXAMPLE.com/cpanel (where EXAMPLE.com is replaced with your name).

Click on Scripts & Programs.

Click on Fantastico

Click on Wordpress

Click on New Installation

Enter your information accordingly.

If you’re setting it up yourself without using the pre-loaded version from you host then follow the instructions from wordpress here.
