The first step in starting your blog is to choose a topic or niche. Yes, this happens before you choose a domain, host or even sign-up for adsense.
This is without a doubt the single most important part of your blog.
This is the topic of your blog and this is what you’ll be blogging about for the next year. So, it better be something that you enjoy writing about or know lots about.
It sounds daunting doesn’t it? Well, it shouldn’t because this is also the exciting part!
So, what can you blog about?
Almost anything! That’s the beauty of blogging!
Write down a list of all the things that really make you tick. These are the things that you’re super passionate about and if you didn’t have a 9-5 job you’d be doing more often. This could be anything from cooking to sports to crafts to science. It’s really that broad. It could be celebrity news, city news, space news. It could range from the stock market to back country skiing.
Now looking at that list of “things that make you tick” is there something that you know more then the average person about?
If yes, then maybe that’s your niche.
